Here are the steps that you need to follow before listing your home for sale.

1. Pick an honest & experienced Agent

Choose a Real Estate Agent who is experienced with the market in your neighborhood. Agent must be qualified person to determine how potential buyers will perceive your house. Check out their past records to know about their honesty and experience.

2. Take time to evaluate your curb appeal

This is the most important part because many buyers get impressed of a home from what they first see.Curb appeal consist of 2 important components:

Entrance

Check out the condition of front door, porch and windows of the house. A well painted and polished door can impress the buyer more. The doorbell should be in good working state. You can also decorate the entrance with potted plants.

Landscape

This includes checking the state of the lawn, plants, walkways and steps. The plants must be well trimmed. Garden should be surrounded by a fence and must be well designed.

3. Check out the Interior

Kitchen and Bathrooms

Most of the problem occurs at these two areas, kitchens and bathrooms. If the floor is an older one then replacing the older floor in the bathroom and kitchen can easily brighten things. If you are replacing use quality materials and avoid patterns and colors that are vivid.

Reduce trash

For a neat and tidy look throw away all the unwanted things. If you are not able to take away the clutter immediately, put the things into the storage room until you are ready to sort them.

Walls, flooring and Countertops

Yon need to check the walls, flooring and countertops. If you haven't done painting recently, repaint the entire interior. Choose neutral paint colors for the entire interior.

Plumbing and Electrical work

Check the electrical fixtures in each room and test each electrical outlet by plugging in a portable lamp. Test the faucets in the kitchen and bathrooms. Check all the pipes, if any leaking you need to do servicing.

4. Remember to be Patience until everything is complete

Before listing your home on the market complete your list of repairs. Once everything is complete your house will be desirable to potential buyers and will fetch you a higher selling price. Avoid showing the house before everything is ready.
